Our factory trained technicians perform on-site installations and repairs on yachts and commercial fishing vessels on Long Island, N.Y. 

We handle custom installations and fabrications, custom console and teak fabrications.  Electrical systems.  Insurance evaluations, charging systems, breaker panels, and repairs from lightning damage.

 
 
 
ABOUT US
 
Capt. Bill Altman has been President of Hampton Navigation, Inc., a full-service marine electronics dealership located in Hampton Bays, N.Y., since 1992.  A  additional Installation Center is located in Babylon , N.Y., and acts as a western service facility to extend our service capability. The company is an authorized dealer for a long list of marine electronics manufacturers and operates eight service vehicles for mobile installation and service.
 
Hampton Navigation has 8 full-time employees.   Prior to joining Hampton Navigation, Altman held positions as Technical Manager for Robertson-Shipmate as well as Service Manager and Design Engineer for other companies.  Among his professional credentials are MEI Marine Electronics Installer Certification, NMEA CMET Advanced Grade Certification, 50-Ton Captain's License, FCC General Radiotelephone License with Radar endorsement and an Associate's Degree in Electronics. He has been a contributing editor to magazines including Power and Motoryacht, Sport Fishing and Motorboat.
 
Our Service Department covers Freeport to Huntington in the West to...Montauk and Orient Point in the East.

WINTER STORAGE
 
Schedule the Winter Storage of your marine electronics with us!!!
 
As part of the services Hampton Navigation provides,
 
we are pleased to offer you the opportunity to Winter Store your electronics with us.
 
Winter Storage of your electronics equipment includes the following:
 
Check out of all equipment prior to removal.
 
Removal of all electronic displays.
 
Labeling of all cables & cleaning of all connectors.
 
Bagging & securing all exposed connectors.
 
At our shop, all equipment is opened, visually inspected and the exterior is cleaned.
 
Equipment is bagged, tagged and carefully stored in a warm/dry storage area.
 
You will receive a detailed list of model numbers & serial numbers of all items in winter storage.
 
In the Spring, all equipment is returned to boat, re-installed and tested.
 
Any corroded connectors or damaged antennas will be replaced and invoiced separately.
 
 
Cost will be invoiced at time and materials. 
Average winter storage invoices range from $ 600.00 to $ 1200.00 based on how many pieces of equipment and how they are mounted. 
If any equipment is found to be inoperative, you will be notified with an estimate to repair.
